Fashion Marketing Website Localization

Type of Client:

A well-established UK mail-order fashion brand with a strong online presence and seasonal campaigns tailored to families and lifestyle shoppers.

Challenges:

The client’s campaigns often referenced UK-specific holidays and school calendars, which do not align with those in Taiwan. This required more than direct translation, and demanded creative adaptation so that the messaging resonated with Taiwanese consumers. In addition, marketing copy had to preserve the brand’s playful and persuasive tone, while ensuring cultural appropriateness when Taiwan-specific holidays were used as promotional hooks. The challenge lay in maintaining both brand consistency and local relevance without drifting into mistranslation or over-localization.

My contribution:

I applied expertise in cross-cultural marketing to creatively adapt UK-centric references into locally meaningful promotions, aligning the messaging with Taiwanese school terms, holiday shopping behaviors, and family life patterns. At the same time, I safeguarded cultural sensitivity by vetting Taiwan-specific campaigns for tone, symbolism, and seasonal fit. This balance of creativity and cultural awareness ensured that the copy remained engaging, persuasive, and true to the brand’s global identity.
