An Italian manufacturer of automated vertical storage systems designed to streamline warehouse operations such as picking, inventory management, and restocking.
Challenges:
The content involved detailed instructions for operating automated vertical storage systems. The challenge was to translate highly technical descriptions—covering mechanical functions, software interfaces, and safety protocols—into language that was accurate yet easy for warehouse operators to understand. In addition, terminology consistency was essential to avoid confusion across procedures for picking, inventory checks, and restocking.
My contribution:
I applied my expertise in technical translation to render complex mechanical and software-related terminology into clear, user-friendly Traditional Chinese. By building a terminology base within Trados and maintaining strict consistency, I ensured that all instructions aligned seamlessly across the manual. I also paid particular attention to safety-related passages, translating them with clarity and emphasis so that operators could follow procedures confidently and without ambiguity.
